An opportunity has arisen for a flexible motivated and customer focussed individual to undertake the post of Mobile Support Worker who can help us deliver our great service. The post is a Part Time (18.5 hrs per week) working a shift pattern between 8am and 8pm and which includes some weekends and bank holidays. Reporting to the Team Leader - Older Persons Services the role focusses on providing a regular visiting and support service to the elderly customers living in sheltered accommodation and residents of the Borough connected to our customer contact and control centre. You will also be required to respond to emergency situations within Corby Borough Councils own sheltered schemes and customers in the community who use the Dispersed Community Alarm. The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week all year and therefore you must be prepared to work to cover current shift patterns which will include Early's (8-4.30) or Late's (11.30-8). There may be occasions when you may be asked to cover half shifts. You will be required to undertake call out duties on a rotational basis to respond to emergency out of hour's situations. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have a genuine interest in working with our elderly customers. They will also have a friendly disposition, an enthusiastic approach as well as the ability to remain calm whilst under pressure. Interested applicants should be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent and have at relevant experience working with elderly, sick or disabled residents
